A Service Counter has been opened at the Treasury. The opening ceremony was held on 4th December 2014 where the Service Counter was inaugurated by Mr C.Romooah, the then Acting Accountant-General. The Service Counter operates as a one-stop shop and offers counter services to Treasury customers in respect of Public Service Benefits, i.e. Civil Service Pensions, Passage Benefits and Motor Vehicle Loans.

The Service Counter is conveniently located at the ground floor of the Rabadia Building and this saves customers the hassle of proceeding to upper floors and to different sections especially old aged pensioners. The main activities of the Service Counter are as follows:

(i)   Civil Servant Pensions

·  Issue of pensioners' pay slip

·  Deal with formalities for new pensioner

​​​·  Deal with formalities for dead pensioners (only submission of ​relevant documents)

·  Obtain signature on Pensioners Register

· Acknowledge receipt of Life Certificates from pensioners at counter

·  Acknowledge receipt of Pensioners EDF

 

(ii)  Passage Benefits

​·   Acknowledge receipt of applications for passage benefits

​·   Issue booking confirmation letter to travel agents

·   Acknowledge receipt of copy of air tickets

· Give information to customers regarding status of their application and payment of their passage benefits

·    Acknowledge receipt of invoices from Travel Agents

 

(iii)Car Loan

·   Acknowledge receipt of applications for Motor Vehicles loan

·  Provide information to customers regarding Motor Vehicles loan

·   Acknowledge receipt of documents from customers before and after purchase of Motor vehicles (as per request).

·   ​Obtain signature of purchaser on loan Agreement

 

(iv) Others

·  Handle queries and issues relating to the above

·  Deal with complaints

 

During the opening ceremony, Mr C.Romooah stressed on the necessity of having a Service Counter at the Treasury and also new reforms expected at the Treasury to improve customer service.
